UCLA Bioinformatics faculty Marc Suchard named as 2008 Guggenheim Fellow.

Suchard was also just awarded a Research Gift from Microsoft Corporation to support his work in computational statistics.

The UCLA Bioinformatics IDP was approved by the University of California Coordinating Council on Graduate Affairs at its June 3, 2008 meeting. We expect to accept applications in Fall 2008, for admission to the Ph.D. program in Fall 2009. We will be accepting applications for the Ph.D. degree program only, not for M.S. degrees.

The UCLA Bioinformatics IDP had its annual retreat on May 23, 2008.  The Retreat included research talks, poster session, and discussion about what we need to do to make the best possible environment for bioinformatics research.  The full agenda, with links to videos of the talks, is available here.
